There is still much to be done:
By Choosing the Lap Band System, you have agreed to the necessary
follow-up. The first 4 to 6 weeks after the operation will help
determine your overall success. Success is defined as: Improved
Health, Improved Quality of Life and Increased Lifespan.

First Follow-up Visit Someone from our office will contact you 1 week after your operation by phone. Please call the office if any unexpected situations arise. When you come to the office 4 to 6 weeks
after the operation, we will first check your weight loss thus far.
We expect everyone to loose about 10 pounds since you had the operation.
Since the operation, you will be on the following diet regimen:
Week 1:
- liquid diet and very soft foods
- Soup, yogurt, juices, jello, skim milk etc.
Week 2&3:
- soft food
- slightly thicker diet with gradual shift to solid foods
Week 4:
- Solid food
- Eat 3 small meals a day
- Eat slowly and chew thoroughly
- Stop eating when you feel full
- Avoid fibrous food
- Drink enough fluids during the day
- Exercise 30 minutes a day
After an adjustment:
- We recommend you start back on a liquid diet for 3-4 days until
you determine the size of your new pouch
- After the 3-4 day period you can go back to your normal foods
Most people require 6 adjustments in the first year to get to the
" Green Zone". This zone is when your band is adjusted
perfectly so that you have early and prolonged satiety. You will
also experience satisfaction from small meals and continued weight
loss or weight maintenance. After the first year you may need to
be seen about once every 6 months depending on your weight loss.

Band Post Operative Instructions.
